Without endorsing your crusade in any way, I want to point out that
there is a very interesting series of articles on The Register which
looks at the same general situation with respect to Linux:

(Most of) the "FOSSDEM 2024" entries is part of series which ends
with "A path out of bloat …" which I think is well worth a good
ponder...
