Just a note: Intel MPI Benchmark is suitable for this kind of tests.
It is in our ports tree as benchmarks/imb, but very outdated and not
maintained.

Newer releases are now on GitHub:
<https://github.com/intel/mpi-benchmarks>.

It has been on my TODO-list to upgrade this port for quiet a long time,
but I’ve been busy on other side… If someone has some cycles, do not
hesitate!
