I installed it in

uname -a
FreeBSD c720-1400094 14.0-CURRENT FreeBSD 14.0-CURRENT amd64 1400094 #2

pkg info evince
evince-45.0

Architecture   : FreeBSD:14:amd64

and it runs fine (tested with a PDF file).
