Right, I've worked out what's the usual pattern for bus device vs. character
device decoupling.  Remaining work is to untangle master dsp device from its
channels and its clone and mixer devs - I suppose they will enter a state of
being effectively independent dummy devices waiting to be closed once the bus
device that tied them together is destroyed.
