For what is worth I observed this behaviour with kern.elf64.allow_wx=3D0, which IIRC is the default on 13.2-RELEASE. To work= around this without disabling W^X I enabled W^X mappings just for Firefox: elfctl +wxneeded /usr/local/lib/firefox/firefox The downside of this is that everytime Firefox is upgraded/reinstalled the above command had to be re-executed.
