Assuming this is detected as a ciss device, have you got `ciss_load="YES"`
in your /boot/loader.conf per http://man.freebsd.org/ciss ?

I'm assuming this is a UEFI partition layout, also.

There is also a hw.ciss.verbose=2 tunable, which may provide more info
if it gets that far.
