Hello Greg :-)

I have been following that thread since 2020 and nothing changed for
~5 years :-(

I have no comment access to the document, but my remark on running
FreeBSD as VM on macOS is xtremely expensive too as macOS is 10x more
expensive than Linux runners [1]. In other project macOS was our main
problem of hitting quota real quick.. turns out it was cheaper to buy
local MacStudio.

Blocking FreeBSD runners by GitHub / Microsoft puts us into a black
hole because no automation is possible like Pull Request commits
testing on FreeBSD, creating packages, images, etc. This is not
Open-Source support but exploitation.

External runners may be the solution but how to make it one hour and
ready to go? Maybe a well documented port that is easy to use and
setup? Maybe a dedicated installer image / category?

Thanks :-)
Tomek
