I agree this situation is far from ideal, but leaving the c7 packages as if
nothing happened would have been detrimental for users. I think it is better
that they are aware those packages are deprecated upstream and they will not
get any security updates.

The documentation only recommends c7 if 32 bit support is necessary. In that
case it is at users' discretion to do so.

I'm open to clarify the docs if necessary. Replacing/adding another Linux
emulation package set is very costly and won't happen anytime soon.
