But is it likely that anyone would even want to do this? The current defaul= t is 1024 and I'm not so sure FreeBSD even runs on any hardware that has more th= an 1024 cores. And it doesn't seem likely to me that someone would want to run a custom ke= rnel with fewer than 1024 cores. The only reason I can think of is to (slightly) reduce the amount of kernel memory used. But would you really need to do th= at on a system beefy enough to run virtualbox? But if you wanted to do this, you would add: options MAXCPU=3D2048 to your kernel config, run "config", make depend ..., make ...
