Hi, I have a suggestion to add to https://www.freebsd.org/releases/14.1R/schedule/ at the Introduction section: -- Announcements of pre-releases, such as 14.1-BETA1 and 14.1-RC1, and available installation images are made on the <freebsd-stable> mailing list. 14.1-RELEASE will be announced on <freebsd-announce> and elsewhere. -- Maybe helpful because: - Avoids unnecessary failed probes such as "freebsd-update -r 14.1-RC1 upgrade" After the version jump of source: https://cgit.freebsd.org/src/commit/?h=releng/14.1&id=4de43de58f519f5c7a68925ecadc77cdf37f9f30 it may take some time until binaries have all been made available; because for example: https://cgit.freebsd.org/doc/commit/?id=af4faed610 - Emphasizes promotion and use of pre-release versions (and efficient use of FreeBSD mailing lists). It may well not be immediately clear to FreeBSD novices in general and users not familiar with -STABLE in particular, anxiously awaiting a pre-release version, that the stable mailing list is used for these announcements. - The FreeBSD Handbook currently does not mention that announcements of pre-releases are made on the stable mailing list. Kind regards, Eric
