https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=277727 Bug ID: 277727 Summary: Handbook: bhyve: reboot will exit vmrun.sh loop - thats not true. Product: Documentation Version: Latest Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Only Me Priority: --- Component: Books & Articles Assignee: doc@FreeBSD.org Reporter: oskar.holmlund@ohdata.se https://docs.freebsd.org/en/books/handbook/virtualization/#virtualization-bhyve-freebsd "The virtual machine will boot and start the installer. After installing a system in the virtual machine, when the system asks about dropping in to a shell at the end of the installation, choose Yes. Reboot the virtual machine. While rebooting the virtual machine causes bhyve to exit, the vmrun.sh script runs bhyve in a loop and will automatically restart it. When this happens, choose the reboot option from the boot loader menu in order to escape the loop. Now the guest can be started from the virtual disk:" Just as reference to get to the point https://cgit.freebsd.org/src/tree/share/examples/bhyve/vmrun.sh#n388 "When this happens, choose the reboot option from the boot loader menu in order to escape the loop." vmrun.sh will continue loop if the user choose the reboot option from the boot loader menu. Better if the user drop into a shell and issue shutdown -p now or something similar. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
