Why don't the FreeBSD Wiki use MediaWiki?

General question, probably have been asked before but I can't seem to find
anyone asking about this on the FreeBSD forums or mailing lists.

Why don't the FreeBSD Wiki use MediaWiki? It's a known wiki software and is
used by a lot of wikis, including Wikipedia, Fandom and a lot others.

The markup language is not that hard to learn and is quite simple (uses
[[<page name>]] to link to other pages, etc.). MediaWiki also supports
plugins and extensions.

Or does the FreeBSD project have other considerations to not use MediaWiki?
