I do believe that this kind of testing is really valuable. My understanding is that though there is a process for logging bugs in FreeBSD, there isn't a clear place to lodge usability issues, or this sort of end-to-end testing. But I'm new to FreeBSD and if there is something I would love to be pointed in the right direction. The Foundation's Laptop project is a subset of the overall community's work related to laptops, and the work we are doing is visible in the repo you mentioned. At the moment we are aiming for this repo to be a place for making the work visible, and for it to be read-only (not a place to report bugs or file test reports). However, the Foundation is aware that there is a need for a more UX-focused testing effort for this project (and maybe for FreeBSD in general?). It's something we need to solve for sooner rather than later. We've put out a call for any volunteers in the community who can help with this, both as testers and also helping to set up and manage a community-based testing group. So far we've seen a bit of interest in testing, less so for helping manage the effort. I intend to discuss this with Ed Maste tomorrow, so I may have a suggestion after that. In the meantime, if anyone would like to help, we would welcome it with open arms! Thanks, Alice.
