Exact steps presently:
boot machine
sddm login plasma5/X11
open terminal
# ck-list-sessions

How I got here:
new machine about 2 wks ago HP Z2 MINI G5 Xeon
installed FreeBSD 13.0-RELEASE USB img
installed X
problems booting and talking to graphics hardware
installed FreeBSD 13.1-BETA03 USB img
installed Gnome, Cinnamon, Linuxulator/Brave/Netflix
upgraded to 13.1-RC1
installed KDE plasma5
testing fast user switching

(possibly messed something using sudo instead of su along the way)
