i thought i should mentioned that after upgrading to

FreeBSD 15.0-CURRENT #3 lf/main-n269068-2cff93ced1d: Wed Oct 23 02:48:20 
BST 2024

which is based on

i observed this ZFS panic during shutdown:

panic: VERIFY(avl_is_empty(&sk->sk_dsl_keys)) failed

i cannot reproduce this reliably and have rebooted several times after 
this without any panic.

bug + stack trace at

no vmcore as the panic happened after shutdown.
