As a reality check, I just tried the "pciconf -lbvV" command on my
newer laptop, which was running:

FreeBSD g1-48.catwhisker.org 14.0-CURRENT FreeBSD 14.0-CURRENT #84 main-n252957-34478b73bf18: Sat Feb  5 05:22:21 PST 2022     root@g1-48.catwhisker.org:/common/S4/obj/usr/src/amd64.amd64/sys/CANARY  amd64 1400051 1400051

(thus, a bit more recent than the main-n252894-8d72c409cd85 you tested);
it completed without issue.

I then fired up a newer build machine and tried the command, again without
problems.  It was running:

FreeBSD freetest.catwhisker.org 14.0-CURRENT FreeBSD 14.0-CURRENT #11 main-n252957-34478b73bf1: Sat Feb  5 04:04:51 PST 2022     root@freetest.catwhisker.org:/common/S4/obj/usr/src/amd64.amd64/sys/GENERIC  amd64 1400051 1400051

For what it's worth.

Peace,
david
