https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=285580 Bug ID: 285580 Summary: drm-66-kmod "Refresh bug" on FreeBSD 15.0-CURRENT Product: Base System Version: Unspecified Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Only Me Priority: --- Component: kern Assignee: bugs@FreeBSD.org Reporter: alexander.nogal@proton.me Hello! A couple hours ago, I compiled a fresh off-the-trunk kernel and userland from the FreeBSD github for testing. I first thought to test drm-66-kmod. Everything appeared to be working, until I logged into i3 (xorg) and noticed a strange issue. Every time I made slight movements with the cursor, or opened a window, the screen would go black for about 5 seconds until there was no HID interaction. My monitor is 180hz. When I tuned it down to 60hz, the issue seemed to disappear. I could go all the way up to 120hz, and anything past that make the bug present. I remember noticing a similar issue in Fedora Linux around 8 months prior, and that led me to believe a bug may have snuck it's way into the 6.6 backport. I also tried drm-61-kmod on FreeBSD 15.0, but that had zero success. It would freeze the second I try to load a GUI from the tty.
