Previously each device would create a /dev/dspX.Y node for each channel opened. I scrapped this mechanism to instead create a single /dev/dspX file for each device, and ha= ndle all the channel routing internally. The actual commit and a more in-depth explanation can be found here: https://cgit.freebsd.org/src/commit/?id=3De8c0d15a64fadb4a330f2da7244becaac= 161bb70 Regarding not being able to change a specific process' volume with mixer(8) anymore, this was actually discouraged even before: "Users are strongly discouraged to access them directly." (in reference to the /dev/dspX.Y channels). I am thinking of adding per-process volume handling in the mixer utility at some point in the future as a quality-of-life feature, but normally per-pro= cess volume should be handled from inside the process itself. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.=
