The fixes I made (that are in 14.2) shouldn't change the default behavior with
any cards.  You have to set a loader tunable to do that.  Joerg's original
changes also didn't change the driver behavior in that it still loads firmware
from ispfw (if present) by default on 8Gb and older cards.  Joerg did update
the 8Gb 25XX firmware, but that firmware change happened before 14.1.

I think to diagnose Vladimir's problem we'll need dmesg output, stack trace,
etc. to narrow it down.
