With both the fixes from comment 4 and comment 7, I could now succesfully build
i386 world native and cross, and all the differences were in host-only tools
(i.e. below /usr/obj/usr/src/i386.i386/tmp/), or files with generated
timestamps.

After the last fix has been MFC'd I think we can close this issue.
