My first question:

What is really needed to upgrade? What is it? I'm getting confused now. 

On the first reply this was mentioned:

"update loader.efi on your EFI System Partition"

My second question:

Where is that documentation? As a user I expect this update-upgrade things to
happen somewhat "automagically" following the handbook documentation for system
upgrade.

Are we talking about this specific?
