Generally, the file is sparse if the file size in bytes (st_size) is larger
than the number of blocks allocated for the file (st_blocks) multiplied by
filesystem blocksize. These values can be checked with stat(1) (stat -f "%z %b"
file). Usually, UFS blocksize is 512.
However, the aforementioned values concerning the notion of sparseness can look
differently on compressed filesystems like ZFS.
