[Bug 275419] ntpd: leap-seconds.list should not run inside jails, and IETF is no longer hosting it
Date: Wed, 29 Nov 2023 04:26:16 UTC
https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=275419 Bug ID: 275419 Summary: ntpd: leap-seconds.list should not run inside jails, and IETF is no longer hosting it Product: Base System Version: CURRENT Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Some People Priority: --- Component: conf Assignee: bugs@FreeBSD.org Reporter: delphij@FreeBSD.org Filing a bug so this is not forgotten. I noticed this from daily mail: fetch: https://www.ietf.org/timezones/data/leap-seconds.list: Not Found So there are actually two issues: 1) IEFT is no longer hosting leap-seconds list. One potential source is probably https://hpiers.obspm.fr/iers/bul/bulc/ntp/leap-seconds.list . 2) /etc/periodic/daily/480.leapfile-ntpd should not run "service ntpd onefetch", or "service ntpd oneneedfetch" should not be run. In fact, it's probably reasonable to not run it if ntpd is not enabled. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
