[Bug 270441] /bin/sh - please implement '!!' support for 'sudo !!' and 'doas !!' usage

https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=270441 --- Comment #4 from Slawomir Wojciech Wojtczak <vermaden@interia.pl> --- There were many additions to /bin/sh for interactive work like completion etc. IMHO it would be nice to have such simple yet very useful feature implemented. CSH is terrible for interactive use for a 'power user'. Several examples what does not work in CSH below. <CSH> % ls /etc | while read I; do something --with "${I}"; done <CSH> % for I in $( find /etc ); do something --with "${I}"; done CSH is very limited ... it may have '!!' implemented and some other completions but ... has tons of other problems. Not to even mention simple redirections ... <CSH> % find /etc 2> /dev/null find: /etc/ntp: Permission denied find: 2: No such file or directory ... not to even mention these (and many more) :) - http://www.faqs.org/faqs/unix-faq/shell/csh-whynot/ - https://hybras.dev/posts/2021-02-13-reasons-to-not-use-csh/ Regards. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
