https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=272827 Bug ID: 272827 Summary: dhclient: gives up after 1 second despite spec saying it should wait for longer Product: Base System Version: CURRENT Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Only Me Priority: --- Component: bin Assignee: bugs@FreeBSD.org Reporter: nazar@mokrynskyi.com Together with support from my ISP I have discovered several issues with dhclient in pfSense (based on FreeBSD 14): https://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/14604 The most annoying is that it gives up after 1 second after DHCPDISCOVER despite according to RFC 2131 it should wait up to 10 seconds. Linux and Windows clients do not have such issue, hence I believe this is a bug in FreeBSD. Above pfSense report has more details and network packet capture of communication between dhclient and DHCP server of my ISP. Let me know if I should create bug reports here for other issues mentioned in pfSense bug report linked above. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
