Then we would define the following flags: AIO_USEIOV AIO_IGNOREOFFSET aio_readv(iocb) would be equivalent to aio_read2(iocb, AIO_USEIOV) and aio_writev(iocb) would be equivalent to aio_write2(iocb, AIO_USEIOV).
