Looks as though it may just take a recompile on a 13.1-RELEASE system -- I
rebuilt from the package sources, reinstalled, and it appears to be working
without causing a panic.

Could the package maintainer tag the builds as specific to the kernels they
were built on so that the appropriate one gets installed?
