https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=261914 Bug ID: 261914 Summary: vt newcons fails if a non-KMS xorg graphics driver is being used Product: Base System Version: Unspecified Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Many People Priority: --- Component: kern Assignee: bugs@FreeBSD.org Reporter: sblachmann@gmail.com This vt newcons bug is old, help-seeking users regularly complain about it on the FreeBSD forums, and I just don't understand why the bug still is there. When used in graphics mode, switching from xorg to vt newcons results in a display of colored boxes. When used in text mode (hw.vga.textmode=1), vt newcons is usable when switching to console. But, after exiting xorg, vt newcons fails until user switches between consoles using ALT-Fn, which makes vt newcons work again. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
