I got a chance today to retest my razer headset over 3.5mm -> USB -> laptop,
and it works fine. I think it probably was a user error on my part a few months
ago. Once I set the /dev/pcm3 device as the default in "mixertui", and
restarting any application that currently needed the audio device, allowed the
sound to work properly.
