IS HDMI Audio supported yet from an out of the box release for FreeBSD 14.0-RELEASE or 14.1-RELEASE ?? Playing Videos with Sound is lively and delightful on a Raspberry Pi. So who controls what works and what gets patched into a FreeBSD release for a specific SBC boaard and model? https://reviews.freebsd.org/D36431 https://reviews.freebsd.org/D37878 https://reviews.freebsd.org/D37879 My Bugzilla Review collection of the above posts https://reviews.freebsd.org/D43399 I ask if someone is testing out Release 14.1 Does audio come out the VCHIQ HDMI Audio on the television speakers for a Raspberry Pi 4B or 400 keyboard model? using the BCM2711 SOC. The Raspberry Pi 5, BCM2712 might have different internal hardware setup that does not use the VCHIQ hardware. https://ghostbsd-arm64.blogspot.com/2024/01/hdmi-audio-sound-patches-into-ghostbsd.html Here is my blog post showing how to incorporate the patch files to the FreeBDS Kernel. I tested this on FreeBSD kernel source code and that did work for me. I also test these same patch files on the GhostBSD kernel source code and that also did work to play Audio out the HDMI Input Television Speakers so not necessary to use the analog 3.5MM plug for audio headphones or to use USB Headphones to play sound with youtube videos playing with the Firefox browser or the Falkon browser. Would like to see some patch file for HDMI Audio to work on FreeBSD 14.x-RELEASE Raspberry Pi RPI image file. What do you think? Has anybody else tested playing a video through a web browser? What about mpg123 pkg install mpg123 mpg123 testfile.mp3 What is the method you use to play sound on the Raspberry Pi hardware SBC? Here is my test of Audio MP3 files https://ghostbsd-arm64.blogspot.com/2024/03/sound-how-do-i-hear-thee-not-let-me.html#more A sample MP3 test file https://freetestdata.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Free_Test_Data_100KB_MP3.mp3 Did I forget some piece of data to list here? Let me know. Thank you. -- Fred Finster GhostBSD-Arm64.blogspot.com t.me/ghostbsd Telegram Channel GhostBSD.org website ghostbsdarm64.hopto.org/packages
