It seems to work great with xfce4 and gpu split 1024M. With 
kde5/plasma it would get as far as the mouse pointer on a black 
screen and sit there. I think better performance would be had with 
usb3 spinning rust though. A usb3 key still isn't fast enough.  

(clocked to 2.2GHz with excellent cooling)
