Off topic but prompted by the "match != invert" :

A hardware engineer would call that != for Boolean
arguments by the name: "xor". That is not my favorite
name for it. I prefer: "Boolean inequality" or the like.

I've seen code in the past that expanded out the case
analysis based on the tests for specific values.
