If there's going to be a gdal update -- which would necessitate bumps on all 
its consumers, no? -- **anyway**, please also apply the attached patch. It 
bumps gdal to C++17 so that it can build with the upcoming poppler release. I 
didn't commit it because gdal has so many consumers that I'd have to chase 
then, as well.
