By that logic it is also stupid to put 'Storj' in the message, since it can also be extracted from the commit itself. Using that same logic it's also stupid to put 'update to version 1.47.3', since it can also be extracted from the commit. What not just write net/storj: update to 1.47.3 rather than net/storj: update Storj programs to version 1.47.3.? The first message is concise, conveys the same information, and follows a formatting standard, which makes browsing and searching commits easier.
