Portscout is great when it's working, but I'm guessing the volunteers running it sometimes do not have time to fix problems. Also, repology.org, which I think is run by one of our own, amdmi3, says that one can, "Discover new releases of software you maintain packages for". I haven't tried that feature myself yet, so I can't offer any information about how (well) it works.
