Re: git: e78dc018f22d - main - sysutils/tracker3: fix build with clang 16

Apologies, I saw the following status update from you in Bugzilla: Status: New → Open Flags: maintainer-feedback?(gnome@FreeBSD.org) → maintainer-feedback+ so I assumed that was a form of approval. In any case, the problem with sysutils/tracker3 is not so much with the program itself, as with the generation of some of its .c files by vala. I have attempted to look into what vala is doing in generating these .c files, but I could not figure out how to make it do the right thing. That is, I suspect that upgrading tracker3 to the latest upstream release, while probably OK in itself, will not solve the particular issue with the clang 16 warning. -Dimitry > On 15 Jun 2023, at 18:32, Charlie Li <vishwin@freebsd.org> wrote: > > Dimitry Andric wrote: >> PR: 271968 >> Approved by: vishwin, fernape > For the record, I did not approve or disapprove, this was entirely on fernape@'s word. I am more disappointed that we don't put more effort into (at least looking into) avoiding possibly unnecessary patching or constructs, especially when newer upstream versions exist. > > -- > Charlie Li > …nope, still don't have an exit line. >
