After upgrading mesa to 22.3, Xorg crashes on startup trying to load the radeon
driver with a segmentation fault. My Xorg log is now gone (sorry) – the crash
occurs before even switching to a different vt.

The crash can be avoided by adding
    Option "AccelMethod" "EXA"
to the radeon driver.

Then OpenGL/GLX doesn't work, for example:

$ glxgears
libGL error: failed to authenticate magic 1
libGL error: failed to load driver: r600
