I can't speak to the problems others are having, but in my case I
believe the issue lies with this particular device. It is a Taheng
64GB Mini Voice Activated Recorder.

Multiple computers running various Linux distributions can recognize
it. I've tried 2 different computers running FreeBSD 13.1 and 12.2
both resulting in the errors I originally reported.

Should I open a PR? I haven't ruled out doing something that's obvious
to everyone except me.
