I don't know what version of FreeBSD you're using, but gpart create does not
have a -t option, and this is correctly validated back to at least FreeBSD
12.4:

[jrtc27@universe12a ~]$ uname -r
12.4-STABLE
[jrtc27@universe12a ~]$ gpart create -t ntfs /dev/da0
gpart: illegal option -- t
