Now portoptscli is in the Ports Collection repository [1], so it can be 
installed using:
# cd /usr/ports/ports-mgmt/portoptscli/ && make install clean
or
# pkg install portoptscli

Of course new ideas, feedback, and suggestions are always welcome.
